Pablo Buch
Co-Founder & CEO
Pablo has +14 years of experience in finance, private equity and entrepreneurship, with more than USD
7 BN in transaction record. Performing as CEO of Sora Capital he oversees the firm’s day-to-day
operations and is strategically involved in investment committees and board memberships across the
different stages of the investment cycle. Prior to founding Sora Capital, he was Associate Director at
S&P Global; and earlier on his career, starting as Sr. Equity Analyst at Bloomberg, he led the
strategy for Latam. Over the course of his professional experience, Pablo held numerous positions in
renowned international institutions within the corporate and finance spectrum, where he developed
long-lasting relationships with institutional and private investors.
Ricardo Montes de Oca
Co-Founder & Non-Executive Chairman
With +20 years of experience in the world of investments and more than USD 10 BN in transaction
experience, Ricardo is Co-Founder and Non-Executive Chairman of Sora Capital. His main expertise lies
within Special Situations, private equity, public markets, econometrics, contract and game theory. For
the past 10 years, he performed as CEO and CIO of IQ Capital, making it one of the leading asset
managers and boutique Special Situations firms in Latin America; with global footprint and clients in
more than 5 countries, its assets under management grew 200(x) under his tenure. He has extensive
experience as an investor and entrepreneur also serving in numerous boards of companies and investment
vehicles. Ricardo is an economist with post-graduate studies. His investing circle of competence lies
within the following sectors: Technology, Hospitality, Real Estate, Retail and Climate Change
Investing.
Victor Herrera
Special Advisor
Victor is special advisor to Sora Capital and currently is a Partner at Miranda Ratings Advisory, a
division of Miranda Partners. He serves
as board member of Seguros Atlas and affiliates, Consubanco, Operadora Valmex, and Atradius, Seguros
de Crédito. Until 2017, Victor
was CEO of S&P Global for the Mexico City and Regional Manager for the North LatAm offices. In this
position, he was responsible for
overseeing all the domestic and international activities related to the rating of a broad spectrum of
debt issuers across numerous
disciplines including corporations, financial institutions, insurance companies, mutual funds and
structured finance. Earlier on his career,
Victor worked at Manufacturers Hanover/Chemical Bank as a Vice President in the Corporate Finance
division.
Juan Carlos Bachir
Associate
Juan Carlos joined Sora Capital in 2019, where he actively participates in deal sourcing, structuring and underwriting and leads endeavors across Sora’s business units. Prior to joining Sora, he worked as a corporate-banker adviser at Actinver Bank, where he supported a group of senior directors in preparing analysis, financial models, and due diligence of prospect clients for committee purposes. As a personal venture, prior to joining Actinver, he co-founded a Mexican business newsletter. Juan Carlos has a B.S in Economics from Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City, with a Minor in finance.
Paul M. Karon
Special Advisor
With +40 years of professional experience and successful track record as investor, entrepreneur and business
owner, Paul is special advisor to Sora Capital bringing unparalleled know-how and expertise across
different industry sectors, such as industrial real estate. Paul currently serves as Chairman and
CEO of Entrada Group, one of Mexico's largest industrial shelter operators in the country. Paul is
bilingual and bicultural, a member of the Arizona Bar Association and a founding board member of
the National Law Center for Inter-American trade.
